I boarded the bus at like 8:30 last night, no one ended up sitting beside me from Toronto to Baltimore so that was nice. I watched Sherlock and that basically took me to the border. I hated having to take everything off the bus but what are you gonna do? Going through the border was simple enough, they didn’t ask me too many questions.
After the border the ride got a bit more uncomfortable. For one thing there was a group of 5 french kids who were so bloody loud I just wanted to tell them all to shut the hell up. Getting back into the bus a banged by head above the seat, pretty sure it ended up giving me a concussion considering my head is still throbbing now, 15+ hours later. Apart from that, in Buffalo a woman came and sat down next to me so things were a little more compact. I tried to sleep as much as a could but that wasn’t really working out too well.
Somewhere near Bath, NY at around 2 a.m. we stopped at a truck stop. There was a very attractinve state cop there but I was tired so this has become irrelevant. I continues with brief periods of sleep until we got to Harrisburg PA. After that stop it was about 50 minutes to Baltimore. I took quick power naps for a bit then finally I got to get off and see my dad!! I’ve missed him so much.
Once reunited with my dad and having been able to stretch my legs, we had breakfast at IHOP where I had wonderful nutella crepe pancakes. After breakfast we headed off towards downtown Baltimore. We went to the aquarium and there are some really neat animals in there. Divers were in a big tank swimming with sharks, sting rays and a SEA TURTLE!! It appears to have had lost one of its front fins so I think they were rehabilitating it but it was so beautiful and huge!! We saw a bunch of other neat creatures including a huge octopus and some dolphins.
We walked around the harbour for a bit; there were people there trying to get people to adopt pitbulls and I would have taken one except I don’t live in this country and oitbulls aren’t allowed in Ontario.
We walked around Baltimore for a bit taking pictures of some buildings and crossing what appeared to be the red light district. We then started toward Fredrick, where my dad lives. We drove around the country side for a bit and then came into town to my dad’s apartment. I love it. It’s 2 bedroom, 2 bath but it’s like the perfect size and it’s so nice and if this was a more exciting city I would totally move here after I graduate.
Can I also say that my dad is best. He bought a bed, mattress, pillows and sheets for me AND he also has nutella, chocolate cheerios AND JIMMY FALLON’S LATE NIGHT SNACK BEN AND JERRY’S ICE CREAM!!! I have been looking for it all over the place (clearly they don’t have it in Canada) and I didn’t even ask him to have it for me.
My head is still hurting but it should be fine in a while (I hope). I don’t have any serious signs of a concussion except for the headache so hopefully it’ll go away soon. We’re having naps now since it’s been a long day for the both of us and we’re probably going out to dinner in a bit.
Here’s a shark from today:
